Mom and Dad travelled all the way from Algonac to my home to have their new baby, Alex, photographed and he was such a doll. Definitely the most expressive baby I’ve seen! He loved his momma, who was a real trooper and fed him many, many times during the session. I always tell parents of newborns that they can relax during the session, and Alex’s daddy took advantage! After the long drive and the accumulated sleepless nights, along with the very warm house and white noise machine, this is what happened…

So funny! But we got some really cute pictures of his little guy. Meet Alex!

I am in absolute love with these pictures. Great couple, great sunlight, great weather. They’re expecting their first little one really soon and I’m so glad to have gotten to meet these two.

Ean, Ean, Ean. He is such a doll. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing him since he was 3 months old and he is just the sweetest boy. He’s got beautiful eyelashes and an adorable smile. I can’t get enough of him. We ventured out to Heritage Garden in Shelby for his one year pictures (in the drizzle) and he was perfect – the quickest one-year session ever! I’m working on a storyboard for their home with a picture from his 3, 6, 9, and 1 year sessions, and looking through the pictures makes me fall in love with him over again.

What an awesome couple these two are. Michelle acted so comfortable during this session and I think the pictures prove it. Not only did she proudly waltz up on top of a hill at Stoney Creek baring her baby bump, but it was in the rain! She had a very calm and fun energy about her and Nick was so funny! They are going to be amazing parents to their new little girl, who will be arriving quite shortly! Can’t wait to meet her!

Meet little James. Born exactly one year and one day after his big brother, he will always have a built-in buddy. I was a bit pessimistic about the possibility of getting a picture of the two together, because as those of you that had a 1- to 3-year-old when the new baby came know, it’s pretty darn difficult sometimes. But we had a game plan and it worked, surprisingly! Big brother Franco laid right next to the baby and smiled. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Except maybe to have a very sleepy baby, but I got that, too! Slept the whole time! I can’t even decide my favorite picture. What do you think?

For this session, Mom and Dad wanted to try something different than a park setting, so we took to the streets of Downtown Rochester. It was pretty neat. The city backgrounds were unique and fun. This family is from Rochester, so we took a tour of their usual hotspots like the barber and the donut shop. With the family expecting a new little one in just a few months, the little man got to have his last photo session as an only child. One day I think it will be pretty cool for him to look back and see just how he and his family were before the new baby.
